Many pieces were recently shown at a Kalispell museum and some haven’t been public in decades. The exhibit highlights her emotionally rich modernist paintings, sculptures, and mixed media, with hours Wednesday through Saturday afternoons.

2. Kalispell Planning Commission Reviews Proposed 95-Home Affordable Housing Development Off Highway 93 Bypass (flatheadbeacon.com) — Kalispell officials are weighing a 95-home Birchwood development off the U.S. 93 bypass that could add a mix of Habitat for Humanity and market-rate housing. The 21-acre project faces engineering, noise, and traffic questions, including over 1,000 new daily trips on Northland Drive, and is headed for a July 14 public hearing under the city’s new land use review process.

3. Bozeman Symphony to bring free summer concerts to communities across Montana (nbcmontana.com) — Free Bozeman Symphony chamber concerts are coming to Kalispell this August as part of a statewide summer tour, giving locals a no-cost way to enjoy live classical music. The Far Afield series pairs many shows with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks and focuses on bringing professional performances to rural and underserved communities. Teen girl submerged for nearly 10 minutes in rafting accident near Glacier (billingsgazette.com) — A 17-year-old Ohio girl injured in a late-May rafting accident near Glacier is in an induced coma at a Kalispell hospital after being submerged for about 10 minutes. Family friends say she was rescued by her boyfriend’s family, given 45 minutes of CPR, and airlifted here for intensive care. A GoFundMe reports she’s making slow, steady progress with strong local medical support.

5. Flathead County Agriculture Extension Agent (montana.edu) — A new full-time MSU Extension agriculture agent position is based at the Flathead County Extension Office in Kalispell, focusing on horticulture, agriculture, natural resources, and 4-H support. The role will work closely with local producers, small-acreage landowners, and youth programs, with applications starting to be screened June 25, 2026.
