Falls school board votes to add position (scledger.net) — Thompson Falls School Board has approved creating a full-time Assistant Business Manager position, shifting some lunch program and financial duties after the food service budget ran about $100,000 short. Trustees also hired most 2026–27 coaches and advisors, heard concerns from a non-renewed soccer coach, and set June 17 for superintendent and clerk evaluations, with the next regular meeting on August 3. 
• A landscape look at the Upper Thompson Conservation Easement proposal (kpax.com) — A major conservation easement decision affecting more than 34,600 acres north of Thompson Falls and Plains is headed to the Fish and Game Commission today, potentially locking in public access, logging, and wildlife habitat for generations. The plan, funded through the Forest Legacy Program, would prevent subdivision, keep local logging jobs, and guarantee long-term recreation opportunities for area residents.
