• Aurora council votes to privatize EMS, but a pay dispute is already emerging (wowt.com) — Aurora’s city council has voted unanimously to move forward with privatizing the city’s EMS services through a contract with EMS Unlimited, a change that could begin as early as August. Local first responders are warning of reduced benefits, unpaid volunteer fire work, and possible legal action over alleged overtime underpayment, while city leaders say the move is driven by tight finances and cost certainty.
