• Homestead National Historical Park hosts free weekend events for America's 250th birthday (nebraska.tv) — Beatrice residents can look forward to a free, two-day America’s 250th birthday celebration at Homestead National Historical Park on June 27–28, featuring crafts, antique farming demos, and live performances. Highlights include Beatrice Community Players’ musical review, cultural music and dance, and a keynote Abraham Lincoln portrayal by historian Fritz Klein, all running 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

• Benefit for Bridger Peters Scheduled in Elk Creek April 26 (anewspaper.net) — A local family whose baby was born at Beatrice Community Hospital is getting community support through a benefit in Elk Creek on April 26 to help with medical bills and baby needs. Bridger Peters has faced serious heart and health challenges since birth, and friends and neighbors are organizing a meal and auctions, plus a donation account, to assist her parents.
