• May, June Dates Set for Annual Tractor/Equipment Safety Training for Young and Beginning Farmers (northplattepost.com) — Young and beginning farmers in Holdrege can attend a tractor and equipment safety course at the Phelps County Fairgrounds on June 25, part of a statewide training series. The two-day certification helps 14- and 15-year-olds legally operate certain farm machinery and teaches lifesaving skills like emergency response and ATV safety. Registration is required, with some options for younger youth and virtual modules.
