Make your miles matter at the 43rd Annual Creighton University School of Medicine Walk for Wishes 5K on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Chalco Hills Recreation Area at Wehrspann Lake.
Check-in begins at 8:00 AM outside the Chalco Hills Recreation Building. The 5K begins at 9:00 AM.
Registration includes a 2026 race shirt, refreshments, snacks, and one raffle ticket. Registration is $25 for students and $35 for adults, plus processing. Kids age 5 and under are free at checkout.
100% of event proceeds support Make-A-Wish® Nebraska and help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

About Our Bakery: Niko’s Bakery started as a simple class project that spiraled into something much bigger. It all began when a young student was given an assignment to learn how to follow instructions by baking a loaf of basic white bread. He instantly fell in love with the process of making bread, from the process of kneading, to getting the rise right, to getting the perfect golden brown. He knew that for his school’s upcoming business fair, this would be his business.

Join us for our feature presentation of the 1963 horror classic: The Terror.
The Terror is a 1963 Gothic supernatural horror film set during the Napoleonic Wars. After becoming separated from his regiment, French officer André Duvalier encounters a mysterious woman who leads him to the isolated castle of Baron von Leppe, where he uncovers ghosts, witchcraft, long-buried secrets, and a deadly curse.
Directed primarily by Roger Corman, the film stars Boris Karloff as Baron von Leppe and Jack Nicholson as André Duvalier. It is known for its eerie Gothic atmosphere and unusual production, with several directors contributing to its completion.

Join us in a brand new open-air venue designed to blend music, nature, and community into one unforgettable experience. Set against a backdrop of vibrant gardens, winding paths, and seasonal blooms, the amphitheater offers a natural setting that elevates live performances beyond the traditional concert environment. From soulful blues to high-energy tributes and crowd-favorite classics, enjoy a diverse lineup all season long.
 All shows run from 6 to 8 p.m.
 Non-member ticket prices: $15, $9 for ages 3-12, free for ages 2 and under Member ticket prices: $5, $3 for ages 3-17, free for ages 2 and under
 In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be cancelled and tickets will be refunded. Concert events may be rescheduled for a later date.

Basket weaving is an ancient art form that uses botanical materials to create functional pieces that you can enjoy for years to come. Weave some fun into your week with this longer tote basket made for hauling tailgating food/supplies. It measures 10” w x 20” l, and the top of the basket (not including the handle) is 4”, so it is a shallow tote. Color choices and woven accents will be available to add some details to the finished piece. Despite its larger size, this basket is still a beginner-friendly project.

Dogsitter Wanted...Hello!&nbsp; I'll be visiting from Palm Springs,&nbsp; California to attend the Husker game on Saturday night, September 12th, and need to find a caring dog sitter for my soul mate, Max, while I'm at the game.&nbsp; I'm a UNL grad and a huge Husker fan, as is Max, but unfortunately,&nbsp; he'll have to watch the game on your TV.&nbsp; He's very mellow and low maintenance.&nbsp; &nbsp;He truly loves everyone he meets. He rarely barks or growls but he will shower you with lots of doggie kisses when allowed.&nbsp; I'd drop him off around 4 pm and pick him up around 9:30 pm.
