• City panel considers buying 81 acres in Ash Canyon (nevadaappeal.com) — Carson City’s Open Space Advisory Committee will meet Monday to review a proposed 81-acre Ash Canyon land purchase, major Riverview Park trailhead renovations, and the 2027 open space budget. Members will also discuss dark-sky certification work, an update to the Carson River Master Plan, and monitoring of the Horsecreek Ranch conservation easement in west Carson City.
   

• Carson supervisors approve tentative budget, Flock camera agreement (nevadaappeal.com) — Carson City supervisors have approved a tentative $174.5 million fiscal 2027 budget, including new court, public defender, paramedic, and capital projects that will shape local services and facilities. They also renewed a two-year, $245,000 agreement for Flock license plate cameras used by the sheriff’s office, after debate over privacy, oversight, and how often the system is accessed.
