You can attend the main gathering on April 24 at Pittman Wash, Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, or Cornerstone Park, or participate anywhere in Henderson by uploading photos to the iNaturalist app.

2. Over 40 animals rescued from 'unsanitary and neglectful conditions' in Henderson (ktnv.com) — More than 40 animals have been seized from a Henderson home near Galleria Drive and Eastgate Road after city Animal Protection Services found unsafe, unsanitary conditions and possible contagious diseases. The animals, tied to a nonprofit operation violating city ordinances, are receiving veterinary care and monitoring, and officials say they’ll be made available for adoption once medically cleared.

3. Henderson camels clear legal hump at city hall (8newsnow.com) — Two camels that live and work in Henderson just cleared a key hurdle, as the Henderson Planning Commission unanimously approved a conditional use permit after strong neighborhood and international support. Final approval now heads to an upcoming Henderson City Council meeting, which will determine whether the animals can remain as part of a local petting zoo operation.

Men's Hockey: McLain wins Man of the Year for Henderson Silver Knights (brainerddispatch.com) — Henderson Silver Knights forward and assistant captain Mitch McLain has been named IOA/American Specialty Man of the Year for his team, recognizing his standout community service. Playing his second season in Henderson, McLain supports a special-needs school and helps organize charity hockey events with local first responders.
