Dispute between neighbors leads to fatal shooting in east Las Vegas, police say (ktnv.com) — Police say a long-running dispute between neighbors in east Las Vegas turned deadly Tuesday when a man allegedly shot and killed another man in his 40s outside a home on Pavot Court near Vegas Valley Drive. The suspect, also in his 40s, was taken into custody at the scene as homicide detectives investigate.
   

2. Ongoing development pushes further into endangered desert tortoise habitat, raising population concerns (ktnv.com) — Rapid development in and around Las Vegas is pushing deeper into endangered desert tortoise habitat, and experts worry the true impact on local populations isn't being fully tracked. Clark County's "incidental take" permit lets construction proceed while funding off-site conservation, but only six tortoises were officially relocated in a recent year, leaving unanswered questions about how many are harmed as new neighborhoods rise.
   

3. Slater's 50/50 first to get to-go alcohol license in Las Vegas (fox5vegas.com) — Las Vegas diners can now legally buy to-go mixed drinks from Slater's 50/50 on Lake Mead Boulevard, the first restaurant approved under the city's new license program. The City Council requires food purchases and tamper-proof packaging, and deliveries must stay within city limits, while Henderson and other nearby jurisdictions work on their own matching rules.
   

4. Friends, family hold Las Vegas vigil for 2 women killed in Utah jet ski crash (8newsnow.com) — Mourners gathered at Sunset Park in Las Vegas to remember two sisters who died in a jet ski crash at a Utah state park, after moving to the valley from Ohio. Friends and family are supporting their grieving mother through a local fundraiser and additional memorial plans in both Las Vegas and Cleveland.
   

5. $143M Jewel development brings 380 apartments, retail to Las Vegas' Chinatown (fox5vegas.com) — A $143 million project called Jewel is bringing 380 apartments and 26,000 square feet of retail space to Las Vegas' Chinatown district, aiming to create a walkable live-work-play community. With completion targeted for 2029, local leaders say the development will add much-needed housing, new business opportunities, and long-term investment to one of the valley's liveliest corridors.
