• Grand jury indicts Uprise LLC owner for alleged embezzlement from broadband project in Lovelock (2news.com) — Lovelock’s long-promised high‑speed internet project is now at the center of a major federal and state embezzlement case, with prosecutors alleging more than $7.8 million meant for local broadband was diverted. Funding has been pulled, leaving Lovelock and Pershing County without the upgrade for now while officials pursue alternative options and a trial set for 2027.
