• 12th Annual Military, Veterans, & First Responders Appreciation Day returns Saturday, October 17 at Craig Ranch Regional Park - (vegas24seven.com) — North Las Vegas families are invited to Craig Ranch Regional Park on Saturday, October 17 for a free, day‑long Military, Veterans, & First Responders Appreciation Day. The event runs 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live entertainment, car shows, kids’ activities, and free food for service members and first responders. Organizers are also seeking local sponsors, vendors, and volunteers.
   

• Some Nevada mail ballots could still need signature verification (8newsnow.com) — A major new Lennar subdivision is planned for the former Eastside Cannery site on Boulder Highway, but the builder is also already moving dirt at Texas Station’s old footprint in North Las Vegas. That North Las Vegas project envisions 373 lots with a mix of townhomes and single-family houses, signaling more housing growth and construction activity in the city.
   

• New strategic plan a roadmap to the future (ktnv.com) — Regional economic leaders are rolling out a new strategic plan to diversify Southern Nevada’s tourism-heavy economy, and they stress that wins anywhere in Clark County will also benefit North Las Vegas through jobs and tax revenue. The plan targets higher-wage industries like advanced manufacturing and tech, while tackling hurdles such as limited land, workforce training, and competition among local jurisdictions.
