Prater Way project to bring lane reductions as road work starts in Sparks (2news.com) — If you drive Prater Way in Sparks, expect lane reductions starting Monday, June 15, as the Regional Transportation Commission begins a major rehabilitation project between Pyramid Way and Stanford Way. Traffic will be down to one lane each way while crews replace concrete and upgrade storm drains, so plan for minor delays and give workers extra space.

Nevada Primary Election winners now turn their attention to November (2news.com) — Nevada’s primary election results are in, setting up a high-profile governor’s race between Joe Lombardo and Aaron Ford and a competitive contest for the 2nd Congressional District. For Sparks residents, the biggest change is local: Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan decisively defeated incumbent Chris Hicks and will become Washoe County’s next district attorney in January.

Secretary of State's Office provides update on Primary election (2news.com) — Nevada election officials say counties are still processing thousands of 2026 primary mail ballots, with verification and signature curing continuing through Saturday. For Sparks residents watching close races, Washoe County reports about 80% of mail ballots tabulated so far, with more than 9,000 still to process and over 1,300 needing signature cures before results are finalized.
