Woman Charged With DUI After Driving Jeep Into Pond In Manchester
Two women self-extricated after the vehicle was driven into Stevens Pond on Monday. Firefighters helped safely remove the vehicle.
MANCHESTER, NH — A driver is facing driving under the influence charges after plunging her SUV into Stevens Pond on Monday afternoon, according to Manchester police.
Emergency responders, including the Manchester Fire Department, Manchester Police, and AMR, were dispatched to the scene following reports of an occupied vehicle submerged in the water.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a Jeep with two female occupants who were actively self-extricating from the vehicle. Emergency medical personnel evaluated both women at the scene, and they declined further medical treatment.

Police spoke with the driver, who had driven off the roadway and into the pond. Following an on-site investigation, officers placed the woman into custody and transported her from the scene in a police transport unit.
Manchester police later confirmed she was charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Eastern Towing was called to the scene and, with assistance from the Manchester Fire Department, successfully retrieved the Jeep from the water.
