Meredith Village Savings Bank Funds New Hampshire Historical Society Climate Control Upgrade In Concord

The bank purchased $10,000 in tax credits to help the Historical Society renovate its Collection Management Center.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Historical Society in Concord is undertaking renovations to its Collection Management Center.

These improvements include installing a new climate control system, according to a release. Meredith Village Savings Bank (MVSB) is supporting this project by purchasing $10,000 in tax credits.

These tax credits were awarded by the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA). The upgraded climate control system is intended to improve preservation conditions for the Society’s collections. This work complements recent facility improvements at the Historical Society.

"The New Hampshire Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories that define our state’s identity," Bill Dunlap, the president of the New Hampshire Historical Society, said. "This project ensures that our collections remain protected for generations to come, and we are deeply appreciative of MVSB’s support in helping us fulfill that mission."

The New Hampshire Historical Society, founded in 1823, collects, preserves, and interprets materials related to the state's past. The organization serves more than 14,000 people annually through educational and cultural programming.

Businesses with operations in New Hampshire can fund qualifying economic or community development projects through CDFA tax credits. These credits offer a 75 percent state tax credit for contributions, which can be used over five years to reduce state tax liability.

MVSB has provided banking services for more than 150 years. The bank operates as a mutual savings bank, serving customers, employees, and the community. The New Hampshire CDFA reviews project applications and awards tax credits to those deemed feasible and impactful for economic development.
