New Hampshire Race Will Be State No. 48 For Marathoner Running To Fund Dementia Research
Jason Boschan said the Delta Dental Half Marathon, Hopkinton to Concord, will be his 48th state in a 50-race effort for dementia research.
CONCORD, NH — A seven-continent marathoner plans to make Concord his 48th state in a 50-state running campaign tied to dementia research.
Jason Boschan will run the Delta Dental Half Marathon as part of his “#50for50” effort, which he described as 50 half marathons in 50 states.
The race runs from Gould Hill Farm in Hopkinton to the Statehouse in Concord on Oct. 18.

Boschan’s Run4Papa campaign is centered on honoring his grandfather and raising money and awareness for Alzheimer’s and related dementia research. He was first motivated to run the 2010 New York City Marathon in honor of his grandfather, and during that race his “Run4Papa” fundraising concept was conceived.
“I considered several races in New Hampshire, but the Delta Dental Half Marathon immediately felt right,” Boschan said. “After 47 half marathons in 47 states, I’m excited to take on the Granite State. There’s no better way to experience New Hampshire’s legendary fall foliage than by running 13.1 miles through it.”

Boschan has completed marathons on all seven continents and has run races at locations including the Great Wall of China, Australia, Boston, Rio, South Africa, Tokyo, and Antarctica. He recently completed the Mount Everest Marathon in Nepal.
Boschan has partnered with the University of Chicago Healthy Aging and Alzheimer’s Research Center with a fundraising goal is $50,000. He describes it as “50 states. 50 half marathons. One finish line: $50,000 for dementia research.” A clinical trial goal is to “launch a nationwide online SuperAgers study that will include participants from all 50 states.”
“I will continue to run races all over the world in honor of my Papa and everyone who is battling or has lost loved ones to this vicious disease,” he said. “I won’t stop until a cure is found.”
One hundred percent of every $1 directly funds Alzheimer’s and other related dementia research, and all of Boschan’s trips are self-funded.
