• Oyster River school unions fight superintendent on 2nd jobs, dress code (seacoastonline.com) — Oyster River school staff and unions in Durham are pushing back against Superintendent Robert Shaps’ proposed policies on second jobs, dress code, health exams, and staff supervision, arguing they must be negotiated. At a June 3 School Board meeting, union leaders warned they may file an unfair labor practice complaint and highlighted deep staff distrust of Shaps, while some residents again called for his removal. 
• Special Olympics Torch Run Across New Hampshire (patch.com) — The Special Olympics “Flame of Hope” is headed to Durham next, with runners leaving Concord early Friday morning so the torch can star in the Summer Games’ opening ceremonies. After crossing New Hampshire and gathering at the State House, law enforcement, students, and athletes will complete the final leg into town, bringing a major inclusive sports celebration to local residents.
