Coaches say returning captains are setting the tone with conditioning, leadership, and a focus on building a new identity rather than dwelling on last year's success. Around the Seacoast, Exeter, Portsmouth/Oyster River, St. Thomas, Oyster River, Marshwood, Traip and others also opened fall practices with big expectations.
