📰 News we're reading
• Man arrested on multiple charges in Lebanon (newportdispatch.com) — Lebanon police have arrested a Hartford, Vt., man in West Lebanon after a year-long investigation into two high-speed pursuits that began in the city last year. Officers say he fled twice in the same car through Lebanon neighborhoods before crossing into Vermont, and they now also allege he possessed crack cocaine during Wednesday’s arrest. He’s being held pending arraignment in Lebanon District Court.

• Residents protest sewage overflow in Lebanon homes (vnews.com) — Mack Avenue residents in West Lebanon are pressing city officials after repeated sewage backups they say are linked to routine sewer line maintenance. At this week’s Lebanon City Council meeting, neighbors described health concerns and urged the city to restore funding once earmarked for long-promised Mack Avenue upgrades. Officials pledged to investigate causes, notify residents before future blowouts, and reconsider project options.

• Top 11 Ski Hills Around the World Run by Volunteers (snowbrains.com) — Lebanon’s own Storrs Hill Ski Area earns a spot on a global list of top volunteer-run ski hills, celebrated for its community-powered operations and long history with the Lebanon Outing Club. The piece also compares Storrs Hill with similar grassroots ski areas worldwide, underscoring how volunteer energy keeps skiing affordable and deeply local.
