📰 News we're reading

• City Hall: Earlier closing time on hold, Derryfield roundabout comes round again (unionleader.com) — Manchester aldermen have approved hiring two new tax collection clerks but are delaying any decision to close the tax office a half-hour earlier, a change that could affect when residents can pay bills in person. They also advanced a long-planned roundabout at River Road and Bicentennial Drive by updating the project budget, with Derryfield School covering the local match and the state managing construction.

• New England Is Ready for Another Awakening (lawenforcementtoday.com) — Believers from across the Northeast are invited to Gill Stadium in Manchester on September 5 for a large Christian gathering focused on worship, prayer, and baptism. Organizers describe the Turn. Seek. Go. event as a regional spiritual "awakening" moment, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and the main program starting at noon.

• A Community Conversation on Mental Health and Racism (inklink.news) — Manchester residents are invited to a free Sept. 12 luncheon at Southern New Hampshire University featuring Dr. Uché Blackstock leading a "Day of Healing through Dialogue" on mental health and racism. Co-sponsored by the NH Black Women's Health Project, NAACP Manchester Branch, and Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine, the event aims to foster honest conversation and community resilience.
