• Young black bear swims from New Hampshire into southern Maine (kutv.com) — A young black bear was spotted swimming across the Piscataqua River from New Castle toward Kittery, giving seacoast boaters an unusual close-up wildlife moment. Officials say the roughly 18‑month‑old bear likely just dispersed from its mother and wandered along the coast near Rye and New Castle. Residents are urged to enjoy sightings from a distance and remove food attractants like bird feeders and unsecured trash.
