• Protest staged outside governor's office over bill that critics say would allow book bans (wmur.com) — A New Hampshire bill creating a process for parents to challenge allegedly obscene school library materials is headed to Gov. Kelly Ayotte’s desk, and its prime sponsor is Sen. Tim Lang of Sanbornton. Protesters held a silent “read-in” outside the governor’s office, warning the measure could encourage book bans, while Lang insists it simply offers parents a formal way to raise concerns.
