• Torrential rain washes out several New Hampshire roads (wmtw.com) — Overnight downpours dumped more than four inches of rain in parts of Tamworth and surrounding Carroll County, washing out roads and swelling local rivers and streams. Madison police reported multiple closures on key routes, and spotter reports show Tamworth among the hardest-hit communities, so residents should expect lingering travel disruptions and high water in low-lying areas.
   

• New Hampshire and Vermont flash flooding causes road washouts (newenglandnewspress.com) — Flash flooding in northern New Hampshire washed out more than 10 roads in nearby Madison and caused minor damage and road closures reported by Tamworth police as well. Local officials say some road damage is catastrophic and are urging residents to stay home while crews work to reopen at least one lane on most routes.
