$500M+ In ANCHOR Sent To NJ, More Payments Coming
It's been nearly two weeks since the first ANCHOR payments began being sent out.
Hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans have received their ANCHOR payment in the first batch of checks and deposits, totaling several hundred million dollars so far.
On Sept. 15, ANCHOR payments began being sent out on a rolling basis. So far, nearly 400,000 renters and homeowners have received more than $520 million, with more to come to others.
Applications are still being accepted until Nov. 2. With payments usually not being sent out until 90 days after applications are filed, some residents may not see their slice of the pie until 2027.

Other residents can expect to receive less money in their ANCHOR payments this year. Since the new budget was passed in July, senior homeowners will no longer receive the $250 bonus they may have gotten in the past.
With roughly $2 billion set aside for ANCHOR payments, New Jerseyans can still expect to see around $1.5 billion in 2025 relief payments.

Can I Still Apply?
The ANCHOR program, or the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters program, offers tax relief for owners and renters in New Jersey, and this year’s relief is based on residents’ 2025 income, age, and residency.
Most eligible residents will have their application re-filed automatically for them. Those new to the program and people 65+ years old who collect Social Security disability benefits need to file an ANCHOR application on their own.
The PAS-1 combined application has been available to fill out for eligible people 65 years and older. The application allows people to claim benefits from ANCHOR, Senior Freeze, and the Stay NJ Program (see more on those last two later), all at once, even if they aren't eligible for all of the programs.
Applicants should prepare their 2025 property tax details, including their County/Municipality Code, Block/Lot/Qualifier, and tax amounts, as well as the gross income reported on their 2024 NJ-1040 when applying.
