Asbury Park Mayor, City Council, School Board Forums In October

ASBURY PARK, NJ — There will be two virtual forums for the Asbury Park school board election and the mayor and city council race this fall.

The forums are held by the Monmouth County League of Women Voters. A trained League moderator who does not live in Asbury Park will ask all the candidates questions. The public can also submit questions in advance.

The forums will be held over Zoom and you have to register in advance.

To register, go to LWVMonmouth.org and click on the red “Forums & Webinars” button. When you register, the public can submit their questions directly for consideration in the forum. Forum questions are screened for redundancy, relevance to the office being sought and civility. No personal attacks or “gotcha” questions are allowed.

Oct. 13: Asbury Park Mayor and city council forum

Deputy mayor Amy Quinn is running against Planning Board member Dan Sciannameo to be Asbury Park's next mayor. For school board, voters will be asked to choose three:

Cary Dym, Every Child Thrives
John "Johnny" Walker, Every Child Thrives

Both elections will be Nov. 3.

Asbury Park Mayor Candidate Sciannameo Skeptical Of Plans To Renovate Convention Hall (Aug. 31)
