Man Enters Neptune Twp. Home While Family Slept, Stayed For 4 Hours, Police Say

NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police say a man broke into a Neptune Township home this week, and remained inside for nearly four hours while the entire family was sleeping.

Justin Johnson, 19, was arrested and is charged with the crime, said Neptune Twp. Police Chief Anthony Gualario. Johnson had just recently moved to Neptune.

A resident in the Jumping Brook apartment complex reported to police that a man entered his home and remained inside, in his living room, for several hours Tuesday night.

The homeowner captured the incident on his doggy camera he had set up in the living room. He saw it the next morning.

The man inside the home did not steal anything, nor were any sleeping family members harmed. But police say Johnson remained inside the living room for nearly fours hours Tuesday night.

The man reported the incident to Neptune Twp. Police and police canvassed the town. Johnson was apprehended Friday and taken into police custody; he was charged with burglary.

He is also charged with a similar incident of trespassing in that same apartment complex on July 19.

Johnson is currently being held in the Monmouth County jail.
