NJ American Water Hosts WaterFest Saturday In Asbury Park

Free. Kids are encouraged to bring a bathing suit and towel to participate in water slides and educational water activities.

ASBURY PARK, NJ — This Saturday, June 6 New Jersey American Water will host WaterFest, a free family-friendly community event, in Asbury Park.

The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and it will be held on Springwood Avenue Park.

Now in its third year, and first time in Asbury Park, WaterFest is a day of water education, environmental awareness and community resources. The event will feature interactive activities, exhibits, a touch-a-truck experience, water activities and free produce and refreshments for attendees.

The free event will feature interactive outdoor activities and resources designed for all ages, including:
- Interactive water exhibits and hands-on educational demonstrations

- Activities for all ages and community resource tables

- A touch-a-truck experience and water slide

- Refreshments and free produce provided by Interfaith Neighbors

“Providing fresh produce at events like WaterFest is one way we help meet people where they are,” said Heather Schulze Triarsi, associate executive director at Interfaith Neighbors.

“It’s about making healthy options and supportive resources more accessible to the community.”

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bathing suit and towel to participate in water activities.

WaterFest is designed to engage attendees on topics including water quality, conservation, environmental protection and lead service line replacement, with a focus on helping residents better understand their water service and available local resources.

Staff from New Jersey American Water will be on site and available to talk to residents.

“Access to clean, safe and reliable drinking water is essential, and so is access to clear, trustworthy information,” said this area's Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul. “Creating those connections in a fun, approachable setting, like Waterfest, makes a lasting impact for residents of Asbury Park.”
