• Authorities Warn Staffing Mandate Could Cripple Emergency Response (thesandpaper.net) — Barnegat Light’s volunteer first aid squad could face serious staffing and cost pressures under proposed state legislation that would require two EMTs on every ambulance call. Local EMS leaders and Harvey Cedars’ mayor warn the mandate could sideline volunteer squads serving Barnegat Light and neighboring LBI towns, slow emergency response on the Island’s single access route, and force towns toward expensive paid systems unless the bill is changed.

• Special Marine Warning from THU 10:56 PM EDT until FRI 12:00 AM EDT (pressofatlanticcity.com) — Boaters and anglers off Barnegat Light are under a Special Marine Warning until midnight, with the National Weather Service calling for 34-knot-plus gusts and suddenly higher waves across local reefs and inlets. Small craft in the Barnegat Light area are urged to head for safe harbor immediately and stay alert for rapidly changing conditions as the fast-moving outflow boundary sweeps down the coast.

• Southern New Jersey Fishing Report- June 11, 2026 (onthewater.com) — Anglers heading out of Barnegat Light on the Super Chic are finding steady sea bass action on nearby wrecks and reefs, but must sort through many shorts to keep a few fish. The wider South Jersey report notes slow fluke fishing north of Somers Point, better action farther south, and recommends targeting inlets, jetties, and beaches for striped bass and fluke over the coming days.
