Barnegat Branch Library Sets Rose-Growing Program With Rutgers Master Gardener

A free May 11 program at the Barnegat library will cover rose care from spring through winter.

BARNEGAT, NJ — The Barnegat Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “How to Grow Beautiful Roses” at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 11, offering local gardeners a free program on caring for roses through the seasons.

According to the program announcement, the talk will take attendees through the life of a rose from spring to winter and outline the steps rosarians should follow to produce healthy, attractive blooms. The session is aimed at people interested in learning the basics of rose care and maintenance.

The announcement says roses often have an undeserved reputation for being difficult to grow. It states that while roses do require attention, they are not difficult to maintain if gardeners follow a few general care requirements.
