• Police Say Barnegat School Bus Driver Killed By Husband (thesandpaper.net) — A Barnegat Township school bus driver was killed in an apparent domestic violence incident at her home, and authorities have charged her husband with her murder. Local police and county investigators say his own stab wound was self-inflicted. Friends from the Barnegat school transportation department have placed her bus on former Elizabeth Edwards School property and are inviting residents to leave flowers and tributes there.
   

• Man Arrested for Cocaine Distribution in Little Egg Harbor (thesandpaper.net) — A months-long narcotics investigation in Little Egg Harbor led to the arrest of an Atlantic City man on multiple cocaine distribution and possession charges. Police say additional cooperating agencies, including Barnegat's Crime Reduction Unit and Stafford Township's drug enforcement team, helped develop 11 more related charges in other jurisdictions. The suspect is being held at Ocean County Jail while court proceedings are pending.
   

• Classic Cruiser With One Aboard Ends Aground in Barnegat, New Jersey (poweryachtblog.com) — A classic 40-foot cabin cruiser ran aground on the north jetty of Barnegat Inlet, leaving one person and a dog needing assistance but able to be safely taken off. TowBoatUS Barnegat Light and Beach Haven towed the damaged boat to a safer spot, dewatered it, and brought it to Holiday Harbor Marina for an emergency haul-out. The grounding was blamed on a navigation error, a reminder for local boaters to take extra care in the inlet.
