Barnegat House Fire Under Investigation, Prosecutor Says
The East Thorn Avenue home was damaged in the Tuesday night blaze, authorities said.
BARNEGAT, NJ — Authorities are investigating a Tuesday night house fire in Barnegat.
It was about 8:30 p.m. when Barnegat police and firefighters were dispatched to the East Thorn Avenue home for the report of a fire, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
First responders saw fire coming from the front door and window, Billhimer said.

"With help from our mutual aid company, the fire was put out and released to the Ocean County Fire Marshals for their investigation," Barnegat Vol. Fire Company said.
The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Arson Squad, Barnegat Township Police Department Detective Bureau, Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Billhimer said.
