• Basking Ridge Approves Amended Plan For 280-Unit Affordable Housing Project (patch.com) — Residents in Basking Ridge will see a long-planned 280-unit affordable housing project move forward after the Bernards Township Planning Board approved an amended plan. The updated design keeps the same unit count but adds safety and resiliency features, including balcony protections, fencing along steep areas, and a generator to power part of the community center during outages, with extra fire-safety review required.
   

• Stop & Shop closing Westfield, Basking Ridge stores (nj.com subscription) — Basking Ridge shoppers will lose their neighborhood Stop & Shop on South Finley Avenue, with the store set to close October 29 after a company review. The Westfield location will also shut a week earlier, though Stop & Shop says no additional New Jersey closures are planned and employees will be offered transfers to other stores.
