Van, Catalytic Converter Stolen In Nutley: Police
The thefts took place on the same street, Nutley police said.
NUTLEY, NJ — Two car-related crimes were recently reported in Nutley: a stolen vehicle and a catalytic converter theft, police say.
The Nutley Police Department released the following details about the incidents, which both took place on River Road:
Sept. 20 – Officers responded to River Road after getting a report about a stolen catalytic converter. The victim said they also noticed damage on the vehicle near the rear right wheel well trim.

Sept. 21 – Officers responded to River Road after getting a report about a vehicle theft. The victim said they were working inside of a building and went back out to get some tools from their van, leaving the doors unlocked so other workers could get inside. When they returned, the van was gone. A “suspicious” white van was seen in the area at the time of the theft. There was a man sitting in the driver seat, and another man outside the van wearing blue sweatpants who was described as skinny with “messy longish hair” and facial hair, police said.
