• Bernardsville, Basking Ridge Victims to Be Honored at 9/11 Ceremony (tapinto.net) — Bernardsville residents are invited to a Night of Reflection on Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Heartworks House on Route 202, honoring local 9/11 victims from Bernardsville and Basking Ridge. The ceremony will feature a VFW flag-lowering, name readings, and a reception for neighbors to gather and remember together.
   

• Cranford holds off Bernards comeback in season-opener (nj.com subscription) — Football fans in Bernardsville saw a thriller as Cranford edged Bernards 31-24 in the season opener played right in town. Bernards rallied behind quarterback Nolan Walsh and receiver Sean Arcelay, plus a pick-six by Luke Bubnowski, but Cranford's strong running game and late touchdown kept the Mountaineers from completing the comeback.
