Popular Restaurant Closes Jersey Shore Location Abruptly

The restaurant had been open for about 20 years, according to a sign outside.

BRICK, NJ — Bonefish Grill, a popular restaurant in Brick Township, has closed permanently after 20 years in operation.

The location, at 179 Van Zile Road, shut down Monday, and it has been removed from the Bonefish Grill website. The location's Facebook page was removed Tuesday morning.

Drew Anderson, a musician who performed there regularly, shared photos of the Bonefish Grill sign being removed from the front of the building, and a sign announcing the closure and thanking people for 20 years of patronizing the restaurant.

A message seeking comment from Bloomin' Brands was not immediately returned on Tuesday morning.

The company closed 21 of its restaurants across three brands — Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, and Carrabba's Italian Grill — in 2025 and said it had identified an additional 22 that would not be renewing their leases, Seafood Source reported. It did not name the locations where leases would not be renewed.

The company did not appear to file layoff notices with the state regarding the Brick closure, so it was not immediately clear how many employees are impacted by the closure.

Bloomin' Brands has closed other Bonefish Grill locations abruptly as well over the last two years. It currently has 156 locations, including eight in New Jersey, as of Tuesday.
