1. 20 Bridgewater-Raritan Students Named 2027 National Merit Semifinalists (patch.com) — Bridgewater families can celebrate as twenty Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School students and two Academy for Health and Medical Science students from the district have been named 2027 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists. These high-achieving local seniors now move on in a highly competitive national process, where most are expected to become finalists and many will ultimately earn scholarships.
   

2. Bridgewater won't ban data centers. Here's what it approved instead (mycentraljersey.com) — Bridgewater's Township Council has tightened rules on future data centers instead of issuing an outright ban, making them prohibited in all zones unless they win Zoning Board approval. The ordinance targets large, power-hungry facilities while preserving one redevelopment option on Route 22, after nearby residents pressed officials to protect their neighborhood.
   

3. Liquid Church wins approval for new Bridgewater home (mycentraljersey.com) — Bridgewater's zoning board has approved Liquid Church's plan to convert a large vacant Route 22 office building into a 1,000-seat worship campus, replacing a long-empty former Johnson & Johnson site. The move could shift the property off the tax rolls if the church buys it, and ends earlier ideas for housing there, while bringing new weekly traffic and activity to the corridor.
   

4. Library System Sets Record Straight and Invites Somerville to Collaborate on a Constructive Path Forward (tapinto.net) — Based out of the Bridgewater Library, Somerset County's library leadership is pushing Somerville officials to meet and resolve ongoing health and space problems that forced the Somerville branch to close. While staff now work from Bridgewater, they're keeping Somerville residents served through downtown programs, home delivery, and online resources, and have posted a full communication timeline as they seek a safer long-term location.
   

5. Girls Soccer: Ridge and Bridgewater-Raritan Battle to a 1-1 Tie (tapinto.net) — Bridgewater-Raritan's girls soccer team battled Ridge to a 1-1 double-overtime draw in Bridgewater, with Madison Brocklehurst scoring the Panthers' lone goal. Despite outshooting Ridge and pressing most of the match, Bridgewater-Raritan was denied a win by standout emergency goalkeeper Eliana Yerow, as both coaches praised their teams' resilience and tough schedule.
