Maddy’s Girl Scout Gold Award

Chatham, NJ resident Maddy’s Girl Scout Gold Award focused on easing elderly loneliness through forming meaningful connections. She partnered with Garden Terrace nursing home and created craft activities that met the residents’ needs, started a card making program at Penn Medicine, and interviewed seniors from across the country about impactful moments in their lives. Her project helped preserve wisdom and history by providing an outlet for their stories. 
Maddy encourages you to ask the seniors in your lives to reflect on their life moments. Here are some questions to ask:

    •    Can you recall a moment that shaped you as a person?

    •    Where is your favorite place you have been?
