The damaged building was demolished after a fire spread from the truck on Tuesday, and both the driver and a person rescued from the second floor are expected to be okay.

Clifton Board of Education Talks Budget, Substitutes, and Autism Acceptance (thecliftontimes.com) — Clifton’s Board of Education is weighing tax levy increases of 2% to 10%, with each option affecting school staffing, class sizes, and the new Maple Valley Middle School differently. Officials detailed how rising health and charter school costs strain the budget, while also highlighting substitute shortages, autism acceptance initiatives, therapy dogs, and upcoming recognitions. A public hearing on the final budget is set for Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m.

Girls Lacrosse: Players of the Week in every conference for Thursday, April 16 (nj.com subscription) — New Jersey girls lacrosse players from conferences across the state are highlighted for big performances between April 9 and 15, including a Bergen Tech standout in games against Clifton and Saddle Brook. Clifton’s team appears in the mix as a competitive opponent, giving local fans a sense of how their Mustangs stack up against some of the state’s rising stars.
