East Windsor Regional Recognized Nationally For Music Education Excellence
The NAMM Foundation named the district one of its Best Communities for Music Education, joining more than 1,000 honored schools nationwide.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ - The East Windsor Regional School District has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by The NAMM Foundation, a national recognition that highlights school districts committed to providing students with equitable access to music instruction.
The award, now in its 27th year, is presented by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation and recognizes districts and schools across the country for their dedication to high-quality music programming. More than 1,000 public, private, charter and parochial schools nationwide received the designation in 2026.
Recipients are selected through an application and review process that evaluates funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities and community support. All applications are independently verified by WolfBrown, a research and evaluation firm specializing in education and the arts.

The East Windsor Regional School District serves students across six schools in grades pre-K through 12. All students have access to music instruction beginning in the early grades, with offerings that include general music, band, orchestra and chorus.

Libby Gopal, the district's K-12 Visual and Performing Arts Supervisor, said the award draws attention to work already underway. "Receiving the NAMM BCME recognition will shed light on the wonderful work that is taking place in our music program between our talented staff and students," she said.
Maggie McGill, a music teacher, said the program gives students room to flourish beyond traditional classroom settings. "It allows us to see our students thriving when they are able to be in a nontraditional setting, sharing their creativity with us," she said.
The NAMM Foundation is the charitable arm of the National Association of Music Merchants, a global trade association for the music products industry. More information is available at nammfoundation.org.
