No Kings Movement Focuses On Early Voting At Hightstown Event On Saturday
Organizers say the nonpartisan event will help residents make a plan to vote early in the November election.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Local groups behind the No Kings events are switching gears this weekend, from protest to voter turnout.
WHACAN and other local groups will host a “No Kings: Vote Early” event on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Hightstown Memorial Park. Organizers describe it as a visibility and community event.
The local event is one of many planned across the country on Saturday. According to organizers, the day is focused on nonpartisan voter participation: helping people make a plan to vote early and making sure every eligible voter understands their voting options.

“Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest,” the event description states.
Organizers say the No Kings movement has drawn millions of people over the past year to reject the idea that power belongs to “kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.” The goal now, they say, is “turning people power into voter power.”

“We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next,” the event listing reads.
Organizers say the events are designed to boost participation from all eligible voters.
Nonviolence is a core principle of all No Kings events, according to organizers. Participants are expected to de-escalate any confrontations with people who disagree with them and to act lawfully.
