Saporito as the new leader of the Diocese of Metuchen, which has been without a permanent bishop since late 2025. The longtime Newark auxiliary bishop will now oversee 90 parishes and more than 670,000 Catholics in Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset and Warren counties, shaping pastoral priorities that directly affect local parishes and schools.

5. NJ rents continue to rise.
