• N.J. hot dog legend suddenly closes, seized by state over unpaid taxes (nj.com subscription) — Tommy's Italian Sausage & Hot Dogs in Elizabeth, a 57-year-old favorite for Italian hot dogs and fried potatoes, has been seized by the state over unpaid taxes and is temporarily closed. Signs on the storefront explain the tax seizure while the owners promise to reopen as soon as possible, following years of financial struggles and slow business.
   

• NJ faith leaders call for man's release from ICE custody • Jersey Vindicator (jerseyvindicator.org) — Faith leaders and advocates gathered outside the Elizabeth Detention Center to demand the release of Martín Alonso Soto Hernandez, who has spent months in immigration custody and about two months in isolation. His wife, from Kearny, described severe emotional and mental strain on their family as supporters call for his release, better mental health care, and an end to prolonged isolation in detention.
