• Scene Around: Getting to Know Fair Haven's New Cops (rumsonfairhavenretrospect.com) — Two newly hired patrol officers, Jacob Gold and Katherine Martinez, have joined the Fair Haven Police Department after being sworn in at the Sept. 14 Borough Council meeting. Both 21-year-olds bring recent experience from nearby departments and Monmouth County Police Academy training, filling vacancies created by a retirement and the chief's promotion while helping maintain the department's staffing model.
