BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — After two children were hospitalized on Thursday night following an e-bike crash, one is in a medically induced coma, a fundraiser says.
"My brother was hit by a car while riding an e-bike around 7 p.m. on October 22, and our family’s world changed instantly," the fundraiser says. "He was unconscious after the accident and is now in a medically induced coma. Since then, he has had life-saving brain surgery, including the removal of part of his skull. He also suffered a severely broken hip and a torn leg."
The fundraiser had amassed $24,000 of a $100,000 goal by Saturday afternoon.
