Bagel Shop Worker May Have Prevented NJ Restaurant Fire From Spreading: Officials (patch.com) — An early-morning worker at Hot Bagels on Saddle River Road spotted heavy smoke and quickly called 911, helping Fair Lawn firefighters stop a growing blaze before it spread further. About 35 Fair Lawn firefighters and multiple local emergency agencies responded, knocking down the fire within 10 minutes, limiting damage to the shop, and preventing any injuries while the Fire Prevention Bureau investigates the cause.

Fair Lawn Police Blotter: Summer Drug Arrests Released (patch.com) — Fair Lawn residents can see how local police spent late July and August, with officers making several drug-related arrests during traffic stops and at a neighborhood CVS. Speakers, including the mayor and a local assemblywoman, reflected on national resilience, first responders' sacrifices, and the ongoing need to support survivors and remember the tragedy every day, not just at ceremonies.
   

4. Fair Lawn Board of Education Notice to the Public (tapinto.net) — Fair Lawn parents and residents are invited to a Sept. 24 Board of Education meeting where a public hearing will be held on extending the superintendent's employment contract. The session at Thomas Edison School includes in-person comments, an online Google Form option, and a YouTube livestream, with the public portion beginning at 7:30 p.m. after a closed executive session.
