Rain totals near 5 inches (app.com) — Fair Lawn was under a flash flood warning this morning as a "once-in-a-generation" storm dumped close to five inches of rain across North Jersey, closing roads and flooding low-lying areas. Emergency officials across Bergen and Passaic counties urged drivers to avoid barricaded streets and warned that rivers like the Saddle River could briefly exceed flood stage before receding later today.
   

• Runners Question Race Organizers After 'Bachelorette' Star Shows Flooded Bergen County Course (dailyvoice.com) — Flooding hit close to home as sections of a half marathon route in the Paramus–Fair Lawn area were submerged, with video showing runners wading through waist-high water under local bridges. Participants and safety experts are now criticizing organizers for not canceling the race, calling the conditions dangerous as heavy rain swamped roads across North Jersey.
