Balloon Festival at Warren Community College Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, features Car Show on Saturday.
The Warren County Hot Air Balloons, Fun and Games Festival runs September 19 & 20, at the Warren Community College, 475 Route 57, Washington NJ. The Hot Rides & Hot Air Balloons Car & Truck Show will be held on Saturday, September 19 of the event. Organizers are looking for Cool Cars and Trucks. Drivers and their riders will have free admission to the balloon festival with their $20 registration fee.
The show will feature all types of vehicles like classic, muscle, sport, exotic, custom, antiques & more. Registration is between 12-1 pm. The festival runs from 1 to 8:30 pm with food trucks, vendors, music, children’s entertainment and a variety of balloon activity.
The awards ceremony will be held at 5 pm. Trophies will be awarded for the Top 10 Driver’s Choice Awards, Best in Show and a People’s Choice Award.
This year proceeds benefit the Fred Grotenhuis Memorial Scholarships. There are three different scholarships —Trades/Service, Military Affiliation & UAS study—available for local youth.
Registration fees go towards these Scholarships. Fred was a lifelong resident of Harmony Township and original organizer of the balloon festival, at the Warren County Farmers’ Fair. He served in the US Army and flew helicopter during the Vietnam War.
