Flu Shot Clinic Coming To Freehold: See When (patch.com) — Freehold residents can get free flu shots at Boro Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 30, with no insurance or registration required, though insurance cards are requested if available. The Freehold Area Health Department will also offer a Tick Talk afterward, sharing tips on preventing tick bites for people and pets and recognizing signs of trouble. Both events take place at the municipal building on Mechanic Street.
   

2. NJIB's Guide to New Jersey October Festivals and Events (newjerseyisntboring.com) — Freehold residents have a packed October, from the immersive Halloween House Freehold at Freehold Raceway Mall to the downtown Oktoberfest on West Main Street featuring beer gardens, live music, and vendors. You can also sample bites from local restaurants during Flavor of Freehold and explore a spooky Lunar Faire Night Market at the Freehold Fairgrounds, all within a short drive of home.
   

3. The April freeze forces NJ farmers to find other ways to serve customers (pix11.com) — Battleview Orchards in Freehold lost its entire apple crop to an April freeze, forcing the fifth-generation farm to cancel pick-your-own apples and rethink how it serves local customers. Instead, they're emphasizing pumpkins, hayrides, and a beefed-up farm store while sourcing apples from New York, as other New Jersey farms also scramble to adapt.
   

4. White Masses to honor and bless healthcare workers Oct. 18 (trentonmonitor.com) — Healthcare workers in and around Freehold are invited to a special White Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral on Oct. 18, where Bishop O'Connell will celebrate and bless their hands. Open to all Monmouth County medical professionals and their families, the service at 61 Georgia Road offers a chance for spiritual support, community connection, and a reception afterward.
   

5. NJ's Top Manufacturers Named Finalists for 2026 'MADE in NJ' Manufacturing Day Awards (njbmagazine.com) — A major statewide manufacturing awards celebration is coming to iPlay America in Freehold on Friday, Oct. 2, bringing industry leaders, students, and officials together. Local residents can attend keynotes, breakout sessions, and exhibits while seeing top New Jersey manufacturers honored live. Registration is required in advance through NJMEP.
