• Two Hawthorne Schools Come Off State Corrective Action Plan; One To Stay On This Fall (tapinto.net subscription) — Hawthorne parents should know that Lincoln Middle School and Washington Elementary have been removed from New Jersey’s Corrective Action Plan after improving student attendance, but Hawthorne High School will stay on it for 2026–27. District officials are scrapping the high school’s swipe-in system for a traditional homeroom, hoping more accurate roll calls will boost reported attendance and eventually lift the school off the plan.
