The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, an initial investigation found it appears the fire had started in a living room with a space heater, said Larsen.
Due to several lithium batteries found in the home, Somerset County HazMat was called.
In addition to the Montgomery Fire Companies, additional fire departments from Rocky Hill, Hillsborough, Hopewell, and Millstone Valley came to help, along with Robert Wood Johnson EMS.
The home was left uninhabitable following the fire.
