First Hoboken Restaurant Week Planned With Special Meals, Deals

HOBOKEN, NJ — For towns full of dining destinations, annual "Restaurant Weeks" allow customers to check out the best meals offered locally, sometimes at a special price.

Now, Hoboken is following in the footsteps of Jersey City and Hudson County by planning its first restaurant week later this year, with deals and discounts.

The Hoboken Business Alliance — which is the special improvement district that helps fund improvements in the business district and public spaces — announced the upcoming event.

Hoboken Restaurant Week, which will actually run for a week and two weekends (Nov. 9-22), will feature prix fixe menus, exclusive specials, limited-edition items, and other promotions from the mile-square city’s chefs, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and bars.

"Hoboken's restaurants are at the heart of what makes our city such an incredible place to live, work, and visit," said James Runkle, president of the Hoboken Business Alliance Board of Trustees. "Over a quarter of the city’s retail space is home to food and beverage establishments, and Hoboken Restaurant Week is an opportunity to spotlight the incredible variety and quality of our local dining scene."

Locations, Locations, Locations

Since Hoboken is a square mile in area, all of its restaurants are within walking distance of the Hoboken Train Terminal. A light rail train from the terminal snakes along the west side of town, and buses run between the terminal and New York's Port Authority Bus Terminal, traveling restaurant-laden Washington Street.

“I know how important it is to create opportunities that bring people through our doors and encourage them to experience everything our local food scene has to offer," said Luca Infantino, owner of Alessio’s Cafe and trustee, Hoboken Business Alliance. “Hoboken Restaurant Week gives businesses across the city a chance to showcase what they do best.”

The full list of participating restaurants, along with additional event details and promotions, will be announced at a later date.

Businesses interested in participating in Hoboken Restaurant Week can sign up to participate by completing this registration form. Businesses are encouraged to apply by Nov. 2.
